About Me

Hello, my name is Desiree Guzman. I am a senior at Barry University. I am thrilled to be pursuing my academic interests in Psychology with a specialization in Child and Adolescent development. Additionally, my minor in Africana studies allows me to explore diverse cultural perspectives and histories of African communities.

Studying Psychology has given me the opportunity to critically analyze and understand the behavior, emotions, and mental processes of individuals, especially in the context of development. With my specialization in child and adolescent development, I want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people.

Furthermore, my studies in Africana studies have allowed me to gain a unique perspective on the world and learn about the rich history, culture, and experiences of people of African descent. This knowledge will be invaluable as I interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and work towards building inclusive communities that celebrate diversity.

I am passionate about learning and am committed to understanding and improving the lives of others, particularly those from marginalized communities. My academic pursuits will lead me to make a positive impact in the world and best serve me during my time in India.
